Japan - a country positively bursting with history, culture, colors and people. So…many….people!!
As an artist, one that makes attempts at expressing how they see the world through their photographs, I'm always trying to seek inspiration and interest. One could argue that those are in abundance just about anywhere you look! yet no place I have visited has lit the fires of inspiration inside me quite like Japan did. I found myself taking photographs almost constantly. My trusty Ricoh GR hanging around my neck like a true companion for pretty much the duration of our trip.
I very quickly realized why Japan has become such a hot-pocket of a destination for photographers and artists of all stages and abilities. There was just so so much of pretty much... well everything! Light, shadow, interesting architectures and lines layered with the old and the new. So much colour and ever-changing landscapes and cityscapes. All of this coupled with the strange yet captivating peace and silence that encapsulates so much of Japan just made for the most incredible canvas on which to express yourself and to document how YOU see the world.
By far the most incredible country I have ever had the good fortune of visiting. Until next time, Japan.
